I am completely intrigued by the act; of perception. What is the real nature of the entire process? Beginning with the physical act of seeing to the internal acts of apprehension, sorting, making meaning, and finally communicating, how does it all work? How and why do we sort out what is real and what is not in the manner that we do? In short how do we come about the concept of 'reality?'

Our environment is increasingly challenging with layers of complex stimulus. Responsibility for this lies not only with the exponential explosion of new infomation and technology but also the accelerating speed at which it is delivered. This I believe, has an profound effect on our current experience as humans in the world and in turn, with how we understand reality.

Nicoletta's work examines how we use our physical senses and our mental processes to apprehend and sort stimulae; how does the dimension of time as manifested by culture, immediate place and personal experience affect how we make meaning; and most currently asks the question, is reality, by the definition of what we accept as real, determined solely by the dynamics between one element and another?
 
Nicoletta's career includes painting and teaching for over thirty years. She is a multi- prize winning artist with works in collection in Canada, the USA, England, Germany, China, Australia and South Africa.
 
She is an constant donater to various charities and causes especially Cancer research, Woman's Shelters, Rotary clubs and Hospitals.
